Southern Illinois Equestrian Team

The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Equestrian team finds their home at LeCheval de Boskydell.  The members of the team take weekly lessons during the semester and have the option to compete at IHSA shows throughout the semester.

Riders can compete over fences or on the flat.  Jill O’Donoghue is the coach of the team and gives the lessons on horses who are kept in the barn.

SIU-C hosts a hunt show every year in October.  Classes on the flat and over fences are offered for riders from other universities in the surrounding areas.

Riders will collect points throughout the year in order to compete at Zone, Regional, and National competitions.  Riders may also “point-up” through the levels during a season or across years.

Alumni riders may compete at horse shows after they have graduated.

The Hunt and Stock teams are a recognized student organization, RSO, through the university.  Check the Facebook Page for updates, meetings, and other information or come by and talk to Jill about joining.
